About Foodie Specialty Foods
Our mission is to share a variety of cultural foods that is not commonly available anywhere else.
I was born in the Philippines. My hometown of Burgos celebrates annual fiestas or festivities. I helped my mother and grandmother bake a variety of rice cakes, cook cultural dishes, skewered barbeque (tinuhog) and slow roasting (lechon) pigs. As a youngster, I enjoyed all of that. The skewered barbeque is one of the most popular dishes.
Through the years and moving to the United States of America, the foods I grew up eating are not available in a typical grocery store. I have to make a lengthy commute to get them. A few years ago, my husband and children encouraged me to start a business and bring these "all time favorite ethnic dishes" to all of you who love the same food as I do and to all foodie enthusiasts out there who want to try something new and something delicious that is satisfying to the palate.
My passion in food art industry also inspired me to create the "Foodie-fusion effect." It is a food revolution of different international tastes. Growing up from a small remote town in the Philippines is my inspiration to this new adventure.
